Hope Centre

The Haven of Rest has chosen to prepare for the unexpected which is the key to caring for those in need, especially females who have come from backgrounds such as; domestic violence, different forms of abuse, wives of alcohol and drug dependent individuals and problems arising from the situation. Some are put on prescription medication which they also get addicted to. Many have been encouraged, strengthened, supported and counselled through their problems over the past years. In the last two years the centre has assisted 5 females.

We have also assisted 7 males who have no place to go by giving them a place to sleep and a warm healthy meal. Their mind, body and spirit are rejuvenated and they are often reunited with their families.

Cases are referred to the Haven of Rest by the SAPS, Welfare Agencies, Family Members as well as self-referrals. Relevant referrals are made to specific organizations (Family and Marriage Counselling in South Africa) for further intervention as the need arises.

The Centre is always ready to respond to the needs of the community at a moment’s notice, andsuccessful responses are the result of dedicated staff that follow the vision of the Haven of Rest.
